
Heather Selfe
BSc(OT), Certified Hand Therapist (USA), Accredited Hand Therapist (AHTA)
As the Principal Therapist and Director of SOH, Heather has over 20 years experience in treating the hand and upper limb. She has worked in both the public and private arenas in W.A. and also spent 11 years in the USA where she was Director of Occupational Therapy and then Adult Services at a large not-for-profit outpatient rehabilitation centre in Texas. Heather also lectured in hand therapy and splinting to university students undertaking the physical therapy course. She has also taught splinting to OT’s in the Peel region.
Heather is an Accredited Hand Therapist as awarded by the Australian Hand Therapy Association. She is also a Certified Hand Therapist, the gold standard for hand therapists in the USA and now recognised in Australia. She enjoys all aspects of hand rehabilitation and assisting patients to achieve their goals and return to functional independence. She has considerable experience and success with treating chronic pain and complex injuries. Shoulder rehabilitation is also a keen area of interest.
Heather is a Full member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association and member of The Australian OT Association, and WA Occupational Therapy Association.
When she is not working, Heather enjoys yoga and is actively involved in her daughters’ sports of netball, dance and surfing. She enjoys taking time with family and friends, and walking the family dog at her local beach.

Jade Bickley-Tyler
BSc, M(OT)
Jade has worked at Specialists on Hand following completion of her Master of Occupational Therapy in 2009. Prior to this Jade completed a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion in 2004.
Jade has experience treating a range of acute and chronic hand and upper limb conditions and has a keen interest in the mechanics of the upper limb and the complexity of its structure. She is particularly enthusiastic in acute fracture and soft tissue injury rehabilitation and orthotic fabrication. Jade has worked in public and community health, disability and paediatrics in Perth and the remote north west of WA.
Jade is an associate member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association.
In her spare time Jade is an active mum to a young family and enjoys playing sport, boating and more recently training ponies.

Rosemary Colliver
BSc, M(OT)
Rosemary graduated with a Master of Occupational Therapy in 2004, following an undergraduate degree in Health Promotion. She is passionate about holistic healing, with an emphasis on musculoskeletal integration. Rosemary has worked in a range of settings including paediatric, mental health, and community disability at organizations including The Centre for Cerebral Palsy, Active Foundation, two Perth Public Hospitals, and local primary schools.
Rosemary has worked at Specialists On Hand since 2009 and is a much-valued member of the SoH team. She is also an Associate Member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association.
When not at Specialists on Hand, Rosemary is involved in a community play and education programs with local conservation group Eco Fairies, or out enjoying the Perth beaches with her young family.

Carmel Bain
BAppSc OT
Carmel graduated from Curtin University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy and headed straight overseas to work in the UK. she returned in 2000 to work at SCGH in Psychiatry & Respiratory Medicine. In 2003 she commenced work in a private hand therapy practice in Perth and then on to a Senior role at SCGH in the Hand and Upper Limb Clinic.
In 2016 Carmel joined the team at Specialists On Hand and has proven to be a great asset with her extensive experience in both the private and public sectors. Carmel is also well known for developing the Rehab Minder hand therapy exercise App for iOS, recently updated and is now available on TrackActive Exercise Prescription Software. This is an excellent tool for therapists to use with patients and makes customised easy-to-follow home exercise programs accessible on smartphones or devices.

Darcy Hodge
BSc, OT (Hons)
Darcy graduated from Curtin University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy, with honours. Throughout Darcy’s studies she held a keen interest in hand and upper limb rehabilitation and joined the team at Specialists On Hand in January 2022.
Darcy is enthusiastic about furthering her learning in the area through up-to-date evidence-based research and actively continuing her professional development through courses by the Australian Hand Therapy Association, Occupational Therapy Australia, and the American Society of Hand Therapists. Darcy is passionate about orthotic fabrication from thermoplastic splinting to customised soft orthosis, soft tissue rehabilitation, and peripheral neuropathy conditions.
Darcy plans to become an Associate Member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association with the aim of working towards her full accreditation to become an Accredited Australian Hand Therapist.
When not at Specialists on Hand, Darcy enjoys keeping active and healthy, playing competitive field hockey, and traveling to the Southwest where she grew up, enjoying the beautiful coastline she calls home.
